2016

An award-winning, homegrown brand based in Singapore, Porcelain started as a facial treatment spa that grew to include their own skincare product range. To further elevate their position in a competitive industry, we helped by bringing the brand back to its core—simple skincare, essential for healthy skin.

Skincare From Within

The new visual identity expresses the brand values at every touchpoint, from logo to visuals, templates and most importantly a flexible packaging identity that stretches from square boxes to rectangular boxes, from bottles to tubes. The visual identity concept is about simple skincare—taking care of the pores; which expands outwards into a dynamic suite of assets. Befitting Porcelain’s philosophy of paring things down, the non-essential parts of the letters were removed from the logotype, leaving only the necessary elements.

Because Every Skin is Unique

The brand motifs are inspired by the numerous skin cells that make up skin, taking on a slightly Oriental style to subtly reflect the contemporary Asian origin of Porcelain. The diversity in the motif shows that every skin is unique and that Porcelain cares about the needs of every different skin type.

Honouring Craft

The main brand colour is Teal Blue, a darker and more mature tone of colour which contains a mixture of the blues and greens commonly present in porcelain wares. The secondary colours are derived from the processes involved in making porcelain.

Post Project Summary

  • In many cases, beautiful design is used to elevate subpar products, but this is not such a case. Porcelain’s products and services have won multiple awards and the new positioning and identity system helped Porcelain to claim that well deserved spot. With the support from this new visual identity and suite of tools, Porcelain continues on its journey to solidify her position in the market.
